This a listing for kit to make Basilica Shawl - a knitted shawl by Justyna Lorkowska using Merlen.
Each kit includes 3 skeins of Merlen in colors: Whisper, Basalt, and Patina.
It also contains CGY cotton tote bag.
A soft single ply merino and linen blend yarn with texture and a gentle tweedy haze. The natural linen gives the yarn a textured finish with subtle drape.
It is ideal for trans-seasonal items such as cowls, shawls and lightweight tops.

This simple but stylish shawl is engaging and rhythmic to knit, and easy and fun to wear. Most of the body is worked in striped Garter stitch. The final section of simple lace engages the mind and draws the eye.
Size
Finished dimensions: approx. 181cm/71.25” wide and 80 cm/31.5” long to bottom point.
Yarn
3 skeins of Merlen by Cecily Grove Yarns (90% merino, 10% linen; 360m/394y per 100g). Shown in colorways: C1 – Basalt, C2 – Whisper, C3 – Patina, 1 skein each.
Needles
3.5 mm/US #4 circular needle (80 cm/32” long).
3.25 mm/US #3 circular needle (80 cm/32” long).
Other
tapestry needle for weaving ends.
Gauge
24 sts and 34 rows = 10 cm/4” in Garter st measured flat after wet blocking.
The gauge isn’t crucial on this project, but differences will affect the finished size as well as the required yardage.
